Zafer Cavit ÇEHRELİ

Dr. Cehreli is professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey, where he received his Dental Degree and Specialty Degree in Pediatric Dentistry. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and has served as a reviewer or editorial board member to many international journals. He is an active member of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry, International Association of Dental Research, and he currently chairs the Education Committee of the International Association of Dental Traumatology. Dr. Cehreli has received several national and international awards in research. His clinical and research interests include pediatric and adolescent esthetic dentistry, advanced restorative techniques, pediatric endodontics and dental traumatology.

Regenerative Endodontic Procedures: An Update

Regenerative endodontic procedures have evolved into a viable treatment option for immature permanent teeth with pulpal necrosis. This presentation will review the basic concepts in pulp regeneration and will focus on Root canal disinfection protocols and use interim medicaments, the effectiveness of apical bleeding versus scaffolds, and biomaterials used as coronal barriers. Current challenges in regenerative endodontics will be discussed with emphasis on clinician- and patient-based outcomes on many, well-documented, long-term case presentations.
