Current state of digital dentistry and future expectations

Our daily life is surrounded by digital technology and dentistry is no exception. When properly implemented and fully educated, return on investment can be excellent, increased joy in practicing dentistry can be experienced, and better care for your patients can be delivered.

When adopting new technologies, some important aspects should be considered. Interest toward new techniques, desire of learning and adopting new technologies should be deeply investigated.

Improved efficiency in cost and time, improved accuracy compare to previous methods, high level of predictability are the advantages of digital dentistry. There are also some limitations. Initial investment cost is an important issue when adopting this technology. Lack of interest of learning new techniques both from dentist and the dental team is also another negative aspect.

The purpose of this presentation is to examine the concept of digital dentistry, its advantages and limitations and share personal observations and experiences.
