Poyzan Bozkurt was born in İzmit in 1985; she completed her primary education in America and Ankara, secondary education at Ankara Anatolian High School. She graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Ankara in 2009 and graduated from Ankara University Health Sciences Institute with her Ph.D. thesis titled ‘Comparison of intraoperative and postoperative complications after surgical extraction of upper third molars with different degrees of impaction and different types of wound closure’ and received the title of doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery field. Since 2015, Bozkurt has been working as a instructor at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She has published oral and written reports in professional and national congresses, and published research in scientific journals in national and international indexes. She teaches at Ankara University Health Services Vocational School, Oral and Dental Health program. She is married and has two children and she speaks English and French.

In this team, oral dental health technician has a very important place and must absolutely be present. Effective operation of the oral dental health technician, under general anesthesia protocol and in surgical applications, will not only provide comfort for the operator, but will also be important for the patient to maintain vital functions such as respiration. Oral dental health technicians working under the general anesthesia protocol and in surgical practice should become experts in their field and feel themselves as part of the team. In the presentation, the role of the oral dental health technician in the surgical team will be discussed and the duties and skills to be gained will be presented.
