Diastema Restorations Step by Step from Adhesion to Polishing

The presence of diastema between the anterior teeth is a troublesome aesthetic problem and is undesirable by the patients. Various treatment and restoration methods of diastema are included in the literature. One of the treatment methods of diastema is the direct restoration using composite resins. In addition to their superior mechanical and aesthetic properties, they are now able to form the natural enamel and dentin appearance with their excellent polishing. With minimally invasive approach, the restoration of diastema with aesthetic and functional composite resins has become the first-choice method by physicians and patients. These practices provide very important opportunities for clinicans to be a guide in their practice. In order to make the esthetic restorations applied directly in the anterior region with high quality in a short time, some clues and the procedures extending from the correct indication to the polishing that provide ease to the clinician and the patient in the series of procedures are needed. It is aimed to explain the application methods of diastemas with direct anterior restorations and reinforce the visual information of clinicians with various case reports.
