Ten facts to maintain soft tissue health around teeth and implants!

Success in implant therapy has long been discussed over survival, however survival may not be referring to success at all times. The importance of osseointegration is still the far most consideration in implant therapy but in the mean time there is an increasing attention on the soft tissue both on aesthetics and maintenance of healthy status around implants. Indeed maintenance of soft tissue basically is similar around teeth and tooth substitutes, with differences in attachment apparatus, vascularization and configuration. A strict respect to biological principals restores an environment where health could be maintained for long periods of time. This presentation will be focus on 10 basic biologic facts including biological width, tissue phenotype and keratinization to maintain health around teeth and implants.
